Overview

As a Coborn's Assistant Store Director, you'll play a key role in keeping our store running smoothly, supporting the Store Director in leading day-to-day operations, and helping bring our vision to life. This position is all about operational excellence-driving sales and profitability, delivering outstanding guest experiences, and building strong, engaged teams. You'll work closely with department managers, foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and help execute Coborn's, Inc. programs and policies across operations, merchandising, safety, and training. Additional Duties Include:

Operational Excellence:

  • Collaborate with the Store Director to ensure that all departments meet operational standards, including merchandising, inventory control, and cleanliness.
  • Oversee department managers, ensuring accountability for their departments' performance, including hiring practices, scheduling, and labor cost management.
  • Conduct regular store walks to ensure an organized, sanitary, and safe environment for employees and customers.

Sales and Inventory Leadership:

  • Ensure the effective execution of operations, including ordering, inventory management, shelf maintenance, product rotation, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor pricing and product freshness to maintain a competitive edge and enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Lead and participate in all store promotional activities to drive sales and maximize gross profits.
  • Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Community and Communication:

  • Maintain open lines of communication with the community, employees, vendors, and corporate office.
  • Represent the company in community events and build relationships with local organizations to enhance store visibility and reputation.
  • Conduct and attend meetings to address operational challenges and opportunities.

Driving Sales through Merchandising:

  • Maintain a neat and organized store appearance. Proper merchandising of products by understanding and maintaining standards of operation, merchandising procedures, safety and compliance procedures and best practices protocols.
  • Participate in all store promotional activities and use cross merchandising practices to create visually exciting displays that maximize on sales and gross profits. Face forward product in the aisles and displays. Ensure products are stocked and properly faced forward, all aisles are clear of debris, shelves and racking are cleaned regularly, and backrooms are kept neat and organized using lean procedures to include, but not limited to properly compacting cardboard, stacking pallets and organizing overstock and damaged product in designated areas.

Guest Focus:

  • Lead by example, train, coach and hold employees accountable to promote unique guest-focused experiences that anticipate their needs and exceeds their expectations.
  • Ensure guest service is given the highest priority and includes, but is not limited to, greeting each guest, offering assistance, proactively sharing product knowledge, recommending additional products that complement purchased items, and expressing gratitude with a sincere thank you. Promptly respond to guest concerns and properly record and report their requests.

Managing People

  • Provide direct supervision to direct reports on the day-to-day performance of their job.
  • Develop a culture that engages employees by building team spirit, recognition, training and development, providing clear expectations and accountability through coaching. Actively involved in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, completing performance evaluations, and handling discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age;
  • Previous retail/customer service experience preferred

Pay Range

USD $49,200.00 - USD $74,000.00 /Yr.
