What to Expect

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Supply Chain Manager to support our teams in the sourcing and procurement of Software & Connectivity. This includes all enterprise software intrinsic to the successful running of our organization, working with various teams across Tesla, including IT, Engineering / Design, Energy, Constructions, etc. It could further include vehicle infotainment software, vehicle connectivity, and design IP. This role will report to our Supply Chain Group Manager.

This person will be a member of our Supply Chain Organization supporting the development, implementation, and management of strategies to provide Tesla with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance.

The Supply Chain Manager builds and leverages strong working relationships with our engineering teams and key suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. They work toward good supplier relationships and total costs of ownership to achieve maximum advantage for Tesla and our customers.

What You'll Do
  • Owner of RFQ's and contract management - ensure Non-Disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Price Agreements, and other related contracts are negotiated, agreed, and appropriately documented
  • Drive price negotiations to ensure that Tesla's software & connectivity pricing is best in class
  • Drive continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives through ad hoc price negotiations
  • Analyze current spend and evaluate current suppliers. Consolidate spend across supply base to create leverage, analyze purchasing trends and develop sourcing alternatives. Identify new high potential suppliers on global basis
  • Manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution
  • Develop key performance measures for chosen suppliers and negotiate on multiple variables to award longer-term strategic contracts that result in significant cost reduction and improved service levels
  • Lead the vendor sourcing process; evaluate and provide commercial guidance on final selection of suppliers

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Strong negotiation skills, and experience with software contracts
  • Experience in working with connectivity operators to negotiate machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, including pricing negotiation and legal terms & conditions, etc. is a plus
  • Experience working along chip design teams, managing the licensing of Design IP, and negotiating EDA contracts is a plus

    Expected Compensation
    $84,000 - $192,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
