Position Summary We are seeking a VHO-Research Associate to support a cutting-edge project applying large language models (LLMs) in healthcare. The position involves collaborating with Columbia University faculty on data preparation, annotation, and qualitative analysis. The project focuses on analyzing nurse notes and patient-nurse conversation transcripts from home healthcare to identify clinical, behavioral, psychological, and social risk factors and document interventions that influence patient outcomes Responsibilities The VHO-Research Associate will help develop annotation and summarization guidelines in collaboration with the Principal Investigator (PI) and then apply these guidelines to a sample of clinical notes and transcripts. The annotated dataset will be used to train and
evaluate LLMs for healthcare applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Annotate and summarize nurse notes and patient-nurse conversation transcripts.
- Conduct qualitative analysis of LLM-generated responses.
- Collaborate closely with faculty, research staff, and technical teams.
- Adhere to IRB protocols and maintain confidentiality of patient data. Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's in Nursing, Public Health, Psychology, Cognitive
-Science, Medicine, or a related healthcare or behavioral science field.
- Ability to understand and interpret clinical documentation and nursing notes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
