OVERVIEW:

The prep cook assists with the daily preparation of meals and maintains a clean and present atmosphere in the kitchen and dining hall areas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Assist in preparing all meals and snacks
  • Support kitchen cleanliness and equipment care
  • Fulfill food and supply requisitions for special programs
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the stock room and living quarters
  • Collaborate harmoniously with cooks and food service staff
  • Report property maintenance issues to the Facilities Manager or Maintenance Crew Chief
  • Actively participate in campfires, camp-wide events, and daily Bible studies
  • Immediately report any suspected child abuse to the Assistant Camp Director and follow proper procedures
  • Other related duties as required


All staff may be called upon at any time to assist in the total operation of the camp. You are expected to join in all evening programs; absences are excused only through the Assistant Camp Director.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Minimum 17 years of age (required)
  • Food handler certificate (preferred)
  • Experience in food service


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain a good rapport and communication with other staff members while working on a team


EQUIPMENT USED:



  • Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
  • Ability to grasp, push and pull objects and tools
