The Institutional Research, Planning and Analytics (
IRPA) department is seeking an intellectually curious coordinator to support the team in analytics and project management. This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with exceptional organizational and analytics skills to be an important part of a newly created Museum research and analytics program.
The ideal candidate will be an analytical thinker, with a knack for organizing complex data and workflows and tracking the moving parts of larger projects. They will need to be energized by the challenge and ambiguity of a diverse set of projects, comfortable managing competing priorities and cooperating with colleagues from across the institution. They should be curious about learning and new challenges and interested in leading from behind.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with pulling data for reports and analysis.
- Assist in creating dashboards, visually compelling data summaries, and other data informed materials.
- With direction, carry out internal and external research and information gathering.
- Assist with fact checking and analysis as needed.
- Understand, track, and prioritize workflows across all projects for team efficacy.
- Provide administrative and organizational support, including calendar management, maintaining file structures, and coordinating meeting set-up, as needed.
- Provide project management support for various internal projects, including keeping track of deliverables, deadlines, and outcomes.
- Help track the details of the Museum's Strategic Plan implementation through various tools.
- Support the coordination and facilitation of communications and meetings with other teams and departments throughout the museum.
- Keep clear notes on discussions, goals, and action items, and manage follow-up activities.
The expected salary range for the Coordinator,
IRPA is $50,000/annual - $60,000/annual. This position is overtime-eligible and the
AMNH offers an extensive benefits package designed to meet the needs of our dedicated and diverse community.
Pay will be determined based on several factors. The hiring range for the position at commencement is based on the type of work and the scope of responsibilities. The salary and placement offered is based on a number of individualized factors, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, education, credentials, areas of specialization and depth and scope of experience. |
| Minimum Qualifications |
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of professional experience or relevant college coursework.
- Knowledge of data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools.
- Advanced writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience using PowerBI or equivalent tools.
- Experience with Asana or equivalent project management tools.

| Physical Demands |
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to move about the Museum campus.
