Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Government Site in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will conduct routine armed patrols and provide a visible presence at a government location. This driving and armed position involves monitoring assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents, and delivering exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and control entry to restricted areas as required by site protocols.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related incidents to the appropriate authorities and/or Allied Universal management.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and patrols.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed during critical situations.
  • Perform assigned duties in accordance with established procedures and standards specific to government locations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
