Primary Purpose of Job

Oversees and manages a team responsible for the strategic delivery of positive business outcomes through corporate applications and the team that builds, configures, maintains, enhances and decommissions them. Partners across the business and technology to deliver technology solutions and support. Ensures applications are up and running, operating in a cost efficient manner that also reduces risk to the bank.

Major Job Accountabilities

  • Provides leadership for the team accountable for all corporate applications and systems within ASB. Ensures that corporate applications consistently meet the needs of the business.
  • Oversees daily operations of existing systems and the design of new service systems to meet the organization's goals.
  • Ensures that system and application processes are conducted in alignment with corporate responsibility, policies and legislation.
  • Develops productive working relationships with business leaders across the organization to better recognize how applications can enable new sources of value within the respective business area.
  • Maintains relationships with primary vendors and service providers to ensure they continue to cost-effectively deliver on organizational requirements.
  • Develops and assumes accountability for the Technology Banking Systems budget and provide guidance/recommendations on purchase/vendor contracts.
  • Manages banking systems team by developing team skills and capabilities in a manner that provides continual improvement in the services provided to the business. Identifies and addresses new skill requirements and fills any skill gaps within the team.

Experience Required

  • Minimum ten (10) years of Broad-based experience in the information technology areas.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with middle and senior management personnel.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in leadership of an application support or system implementation team.

Required Skills or Training

  • Proven ability to translate strategy to executable roadmaps.
  • Organizational design - can design/create team structure an determine where work product should live. Ability to define roles and responsibilities within a department.
  • Operational leadership - manage and own budget, capacity planning and delivery capacity.
  • Manager leadership - develop people managers, succession plan and execution of performance management.
  • Communication and collaboration up and down the organization.
  • Solid ability to build relationships across the organization, ability to influence decision and outcomes.
