Position Overview

PSI is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist (PSS) - Intake Lead to support personnel security suitability intake tasks in support of the DHS Federal Protective Service (FPS), Personnel Security Division (PSD). This role serves as a lead for intake operations, supporting case coordination, quality assurance, performance monitoring, and team training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Point of Contact: Serve as the primary contact for case-related inquiries from contractors and stakeholders; escalate unresolved issues to Key Personnel as appropriate
  • Training & Development: Facilitate on-the-job training (OJT) for new hires and provide refresher training as needed; conduct orientation sessions for team members
  • Case Management: Monitor and assist with case assignments and resolve intake issues to support team performance; some case assignment responsibilities may apply
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct monthly quality control checks to ensure compliance and maintain high-quality deliverables
  • Performance Monitoring: Partner with the Program Manager to track performance metrics, implement quality measures, and support employee evaluation processes
  • Staff Coordination: Approve timesheets, manage leave requests, and support recruiting activities including candidate interviews
  • Conflict Resolution: Assist with resolving complaints and support disciplinary processes when necessary

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate's degree or equivalent required
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a leadership role with at least 3 years of relevant experience in security or intelligence fields (technical, physical, or operational security)
  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of personnel security principles and government contracting regulations
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more security and/or intelligence disciplines preferred
  • Experience implementing complex government security and/or intelligence programs and policies preferred
