Job Overview
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads a high performing manufacturing team committed to exceeding production targets and delivering high quality products. This role oversees Manufacturing Engineers and Maintenance Technicians while supporting a single shift plant with a strong retention rate. The position drives key KPIs in safety, quality, cost, and culture by adapting plans, resolving operational challenges, and providing technical guidance to optimize processes. It also manages capital budgeting, investment approvals, equipment run offs, and plant layout improvements. The Operations Manager plays a central role in new product introductions and sustaining an engaged, stable workforce.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering, quality, supply chain, and sales, to ensure seamless operations and successful product launches.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies and initiatives aligned with overall business objectives, ensuring efficient and cost-effective production processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging lean manufacturing principles and exploring new technologies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Lead a culture of inclusion and belonging, promoting member engagement, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
- Lead, manage, and motivate a team of manufacturing professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
- Manage departmental budgets, allocate resources effectively, and track expenses to ensure financial responsibility.
- Oversee production operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in manufacturing to maintain a competitive edge.
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
- Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar relevant field of study
- Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years Manufacturing/Operations experience OR 4 years Manufacturing/Operations experience if no post-secondary education
- Work Experience: 5 years Manufacturing/Operations experience
- Supervisory Experience: 2 years supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Hands on knowledge of robotic welding systems and automated fabrication processes
- Background in tube bending, metal fabrication, welding, upholstery, and assembly operations
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD tools for layout, equipment, and process design
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Effective at setting priorities and maintaining focus in a fast paced, highpressure environment
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities
- High sense of urgency, self motivation, and a results driven mindset
- Manufacturing leadership experience, ideally within seating or related industries
- Proven ability to guide technical teams and collaborate cross functionally
- Experience with capital project planning, equipment run offs, and facility layout optimization
- Familiarity with new product introduction (NPI) processes
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to build trust, maintain team engagement, and support a positive plant culture
- Data driven approach to decision making and KPI management
