What to Expect
As Tesla increases its footprint with newer products, the need to automate sales and use tax in our systems becomes even more necessary. Considering this, the Indirect Tax Technology group seeks a Senior Business Analyst who is seasoned in cross functional business processes and is strong in IT methodologies. This position will primarily support the Indirect Tax system and its integration with Order to Cash and Procure to Pay systems. He/she will work closely with the U.S. Indirect Tax Advisory, Compliance and Audits teams, as well as Global Indirect Tax partners, Controllership and Finance, and IT teams.
What You'll Do
- Assist with implementation, maintenance and documentation of indirect tax automation and reporting process
- Communicate the tax requirements to IT team and ensure new Tesla products and indirect tax rules are configured and activated in Vertex in a timely, scalable and efficient manner
- Analyze the need for a new application or enhancements to an existing application to suit business needs and make decisions if they are needed or not
- Recommend solutions that adhere to industry standards, keeping in mind the impact on upstream and downstream system and stakeholders
- Develop and execute test plans (such as User Acceptance Testing - UAT) to ensure implemented solutions meet indirect tax requirements and are fully functional
- Work cross functionally across business teams including Indirect Tax, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Sales & Service to identify and document detailed business needs, requirements, and user stories
- Maintain SOX compliance, internal controls and procedures related to tax systems
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- 4-6 years of prior experience as Systems Analyst or Indirect Tax Technology Analyst
- Must have proficiency in implementing/supporting tax technology products, such as OneSource, Vertex, Corp Tax and other similar tax software
- Must have experience implementing tax technology solutions, optimizing tax processes, and utilizing RPA (Robotic Process Automation)
- Must be well versed with using SQL and Business Process Modeling tools such as MS Visio, MS Excel, MS Access
- Must have project management skills and provide key deliverables such as Project Plans, Business Requirement Documents, Use Cases, System Sequence Diagrams
- Working knowledge of data management software like Alteryx, using PowerBI or other ETL tools a plus

Expected Compensation
$69,600 - $270,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
