We partner closely with Operations and Product teams to solve high-impact business problems through analytics, machine learning, and scalable data engineering products.

This is a mid-level, full-stack Data Engineeringrole supporting multiple Tesla Residential Energy product lines, including Powerwall, Solar Roof, Retrofit Solar, and Wall Connector. You will design, build, and deploy production-grade datasolutions, working across functional teams to deliver actionable insights and scalable data products.

The successful candidate is highly technical, intellectually curious, well-organized, and able to clearly communicate complextechnicalconcepts to non-technical stakeholders.


What You'll Do
  • Acquire data from primary/secondary data sources and maintain databases and data systems that empower operational and exploratory analysis
  • Automate analyses and author pipelines using SQL and Python-based ETL/ELT frameworks
  • Drive improvement to underlying data systems by working with key cross-functional stakeholders
  • Perform data quality validations to ensure data integrity meets business requirements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with a team that blends software engineering, data science, analytics, and product to ensure solutions align with the system design, operational needs, and end-user impact

What You'll Bring
  • Extensive experience writing software with Python
  • Experience with end-to-end deployments of data pipelines consumed by production software applications
  • Experience with workflow management platforms (Airflow)
  • Experience with multiple data architecture paradigms (SQL, NoSQL, Kafka, Spark)
  • Knowledge of various data communication protocols (REST API,Websockets)
  • Experience with command line operations (bash,zsh)
  • Comfortable with code testing (unittest,pytest)
  • Familiarity with continuous integration pipelines (Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes) preferred
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience as a data engineer in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

    Expected Compensation
    $100,000 - $180,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
