Summary
Manage all aspects of a retail store engaged in selling specific and general lines of merchandise related to Outdoor, Work, and Western footwear and apparel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to maximize sales through customer service, product knowledge, product presentation and promotion.
  • Lead in the planning, merchandising, implementation and follow up of store operational tasks, sales events and community networking activities.
  • Collaborate with brand Vice Presidents and marketing teams on sales promotion activities, merchandise displays and advertising copy.
  • Develop and manage the store's budget to control expenses and maximize profitability.
  • Order merchandise and prepare requisitions to replenish merchandise on hand.
  • Develop and maintain store standards to maximize customer experience and associate development.
  • Develop, implement and train associates on Loss Prevention methods.
  • Provide sales and product training to associates to ensure their subject matter expertise and a positive customer experience.
  • Drive continuous improvements through open communication, coaching, counseling and feedback to maintain a knowledge of associates' strengths and opportunities and to facilitate exceptional team output and superior customer service.
  • Maintain staff by collaborating with Human Resources to recruit, select, orientate and train associates. Develop associate's professional and personal growth through cross-training, mentoring and discipline.
  • Maintain Company Values; conduct monthly meetings with staff to discuss stores progress, plans for future events; and facilitate open discussions to address associates' needs and requests.
  • Approve all department training activities which includes the identification and analysis of training needs and the design and implementation of programs to address deficiencies and succession planning.
  • Supervise associates engaged in sales work, taking of inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, and perform work of subordinates, as needed.
  • Ensure that associates are assigned appropriate duties, break periods, work schedule and vacation to provide a quality experience to customers.
  • Address customer concerns or inquiries.


Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or five (5) to six (6) years related retail management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of retail store management experience.
  • Preferred knowledge of archery and firearms.
  • Eligible to sell firearms under Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
  • Proven ability to manage, develop and motivate a team.
  • Previous sales volume responsibility of $3.5 Million or more.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and follow through skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to give regular and clear feedback to individuals and teams, as well as to provide and receive constructive criticism.
  • Experience in employee/team development and recognition.
  • Demonstrated passion for integrity, responsibility and humility.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to lift and carry fifty pounds (50 lbs.).
