Kennedy Jenks is seeking a motivated Wastewater Process Engineer to join our growing Wastewater Infrastructure team in Washington. This role will be based in Washington, with opportunities to support wastewater process projects across the company. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, a collaborative mindset, and experience supporting wastewater treatment planning, design, and optimization efforts.


Key Responsibilities:




  • Serve as a key technical contributor on wastewater process projects, supporting planning, design, and optimization efforts.



  • Apply engineering analysis and problem-solving skills to support solution development for wastewater treatment systems.



  • Collaborate with senior engineers and project leads on wastewater treatment projects, including system design, upgrades, and expansions.



  • Support detailed design and assist with project coordination for small to large civil infrastructure projects, including wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and collection systems.



  • Participate in the design and optimization of wastewater treatment processes, including physical, chemical, and biological treatment systems, to improve efficiency and minimize environmental impact.



  • Act as an assistant to Project Managers and Process Leads, as needed, supporting technical deliverables and coordination tasks.



  • Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders by supporting project updates, technical discussions, and compliance documentation.




Qualifications:




  • 5+ years of relevant wastewater process engineering experience



  • BS or MS in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or related engineering degree



  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred



  • Experience with wastewater treatment processes, regulations, and technologies



  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills



  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent client service and work collaboratively with project teams



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills



  • Willingness to travel within Washington for project sites, client meetings, and collaboration with other Kennedy Jenks offices




Kennedy Jenks supports a healthy work-life balance and utilizes a hybrid model of home and office work, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. This approach empowers our people to thrive, collaborate, and achieve their full potential.


Salary range for this position is expected to be between $120,000 and $175,000, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, and geographic location.


This position is eligible for performance and incentive compensation.
