Location: Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital | 6777 W Maple Road West Bloomfield Township, MI 48322 (additional locations you may travel to are HF Macomb and HF Main) Inpatient/Outpatient: 100% inpatient Patients: 100% Adult (15 years of age and older) Position Overview: This full-time Infectious Disease Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) position at Henry Ford West Bloomfield is a 100% inpatient role providing consultative care to adult patients ages 15 and older. The APP will manage 10-14 patients daily on average, depending on new inpatient consult volume and follow-up needs, and will work closely with a highly collaborative Infectious Disease physician team. While there are no current requirements for outpatient clinic coverage, there may be a future possibility of a half-day per week in the outpatient ID clinic. Strong experience in hospital-based internal medicine, including H&Ps and daily progress notes, is highly recommended; prior inpatient Infectious Disease consultation experience and/or exposure to ICU or transplant patients is strongly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role offers a strong educational environment, reasonable workload expectations, and exceptional work-life balance with no weekends or holidays. This position is based primarily at Henry Ford West Bloomfield, with no routine travel, though occasional coverage at other Henry Ford locations (Macomb Hospital or Henry Ford Hospital Main Campus) may be required. New graduates will not be considered; applicants should have prior inpatient Internal Medicine or IM subspecialty experience and be prepared to detail their years of experience, responsibilities, and scope of practice relevant to an inpatient Infectious Disease consultative role. Schedule - Full-Time, Days. Monday - Friday, 8 hours daily. Qualifications: * NP - Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) * PA - Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) * NP - Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan * PA - Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Licensure and Certification * Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application) * National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA) * Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required. * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. * DEA/CSL, required through credentialing. o DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL. Department would work with provider to get certified after hiring as well. Experience * Strong experience with hospital inpatient internal medicine * Highly recommend infectious disease inpatient consultation experience, and/or experience seeing ICU or transplant patients.
