ABOUT THE ROLE

The Sr Project Controls Specialist serves as a critical role in driving operational excellence through data-driven insights and strategic oversight. This position is responsible for developing and managing robust control frameworks, ensuring compliance with organizational standards, and leveraging analytics to optimize performance across key business functions. The Specialist's focus will be on training districts on delivering accurate reporting, forecasting, and actionable intelligence to support decision-making.

Essential Functions

  • Implement strategic approach to providing teaching, consulting, proactive guidance, and equipping project teams with best practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
  • Provide strategic oversight and support on projects of significant size or risk, providing an additional layer of oversight to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards
  • Lead the development and implementation of standardized processes for cost tracking, forecasting, and change controls
  • Lead and collaborate with Districts when projects encounter challenges, working collaboratively to identify issues and implementing corrective actions that drive successful outcomes
  • Lead and collaborate with field and office teams to ensure proper documentation, reporting, and visibility into project performance
  • Capture and analyze project data to deliver actionable insights, predictive reporting, and governance that enhance decision-making and performance
  • Train and provide proactive guidance, equipping project teams with best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
  • Provide support for the develpment and training of estimators, as needed
  • Train district management on organizational processes
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location
  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in project controls, scheduling, and program management within the construction (electrical construction preferred) industry
  • Solid experience with enterprise platforms such as JD Edwards, or similar ERP systems
  • Advanced experience supporting a diverse portfolio of concurrent electric construction transmission and distribution projects

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and CPM scheduling tools
  • Strong knowledge of cost management, earned value analysis, and project forecasting
  • Strong verbal and written communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25-50% to project sites and regional offices
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary $85,112 - $143,840/ year
      • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
