JOB SUMMARY



Provide overall support to the Human Resources department, including recruitment, employee relations, and administrative tasks.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • A working knowledge of human resources at a level normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in an HR setting.




KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES


  • Broad understanding of employment law, staffing, and statistical analysis techniques, as well as a practical working knowledge of compensation and benefits, employee relations, communications, and organizational development.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a timely manner with limited supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Must be able to act with integrity and professionalism. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn HR technology, HRIS systems, and other related software.
  • Proficiency in the use of various Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Experience working with employees subject to collective bargaining agreements.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Support recruitment efforts by posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interview schedules with hiring managers.
  • Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding by entering employee data into onboarding/HRIS systems, processing paperwork (I 9/E Verify), facilitating basic training, and coordinating with hiring managers to ensure a smooth start.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team by preparing documents, maintaining records, responding to employee inquiries promptly and professionally, and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Assist in the coordination of HR events, training sessions, and workshops.
  • Stay informed about HR laws and regulations to ensure compliance with all HR practices.
  • Assist in communicating and implementing HR policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Assist with pre-employment qualifications, including background checks and drug screens.
  • Ensure personnel files and records are accurate and maintained in the HRIS system, in accordance with legal requirements and company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for employment verification requests and unemployment claim inquiries.
  • Assist with the FMLA process, including, but not limited to, providing request forms, tracking, and administration.
  • Assist with monitoring compliance course completion and providing follow-up as needed.
  • Assist with compiling employee data for corporate, legal, and regulatory reporting, including, but not limited to, Affirmative Action/Non-Discrimination, EEO-1, EEO Surveys, and VETs 100 reports.
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS


  • Wage range: $25 - $31 hourly.
  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401 (k) with company match.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION


  • Background check, credit check, MVR, and drug screen may be required (varies by position).
  • Requires minimal travel (up to 10%), including in-state and out-of-state by car and/or plane with overnight stays.
