Job Summary

Provides student services program support focused on career and entrepreneurial development, employer engagement, and work-based experiences. This position supports students with career decision-making, goal setting, and skill building through direct student engagement and guidance, and assists with career-related programming, employer-hosted activities, and workforce partnerships. The role works collaboratively with Career Services staff, faculty, employers, and community partners to build and sustain relationships that connect students to viable career and entrepreneurial opportunities, as well as work-based experiences.

Essential Functions

30% - Deliver career support services to students, alumni, community members, and employers through career decision-making support, goal setting, and skill building aligned with workforce and entrepreneurial opportunities, in support of Career Services initiatives.

30% - Coordinate and support career-related events and programs, including career fairs, internships, service learning, on-campus recruitment, informational interviews, networking events, and entrepreneurship-focused activities that provide students with exposure to employers, industries, and career options.

25% - Assist with employer, industry, and community engagement by supporting partnerships, panels, workforce initiatives, and industry collaboration activities; communicate with external partners to facilitate student participation and engagement.

10% - Promote Career Services programs and opportunities through classroom visits, presentations, workshops, and digital communication, including outreach efforts that support career awareness and workforce readiness.

5% - Work collaboratively with Career Services staff, faculty, and student services partners in support of career services initiatives and perform other duties consistent with the scope and grade of the position.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, and one (1) year full-time of student services or college teaching experience, or experience assisting with educational programs development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, customer service, or related student development programs.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above, sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications
  1. Experience in student support services, workforce development, employer engagement, or entrepreneurship-related programming
  2. Experience working with students or young adults in a mentoring, coaching, or student-serving environment
  3. Experience engaging with community organizations, nonprofit partners, or industry professionals
  4. Experience supporting career readiness, work-based experiences, or service learning programs
  5. Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
  6. Proficiency with common office software and technology platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or equivalent).
  7. One (1) year of relevant full-time MCCCD experience during the previous two years. (For internal applicants only)


Special Working Conditions
  • MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visa. (required)
  • Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License, and/or First Aid certification may be required for some assignments.
    Preferred: None.

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, lifting, keyboarding, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
  • Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force, constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise
    move objects, including the human body.
  • Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed in an indoor office environment.
  • Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate's own expense.
