Position Overview
Reporting to the Utilities Superintendent, the Assistant Utilities Superintendent will have financial and operating responsibility for safety, environmental compliance, quality, cost, productivity, reliability and human resources of the mill utility area. From a strategic business perspective, this position must focus on a steadfast commitment to safety and environmental stewardship, sustaining the highest department quality and productivity levels, managing asset quality; ensuring the long term reliability of two boilers, water treatment plant, and balance of plant operations. The Assistant Utilities Superintendent will work closely with the area production and maintenance superintendents to establish objectives consistent with the GBMD vision and strategy. Strong leadership and clear communication of GBMD strategy and short-term tactical objectives will provide a solid foundation to ensure accountability and understanding by employees at every level within the utilities department. Responsibilities * Provide leadership to maintain safe working conditions, good housekeeping practices, and 100 % environmental compliance. Qualifications * Undergraduate degree in Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
