JOB SUMMARY
Vaco is currently seeking a Senior MDM Data Engineer for a 12M+ Contract (w/ potential to convert to fulltime based on performance / project needs, etc.) that is located in Dallas, TX 75251 (onsite 2 days per week). The Senior MDM Data Engineer will join an evolving Master Data Management platform and will be a hands-on implementation role focusing on building, optimizing, and maintaining MDM technical components, with emphasis on data ingestion, integration, survivorship rules, golden record creation, and reliable data flows across hybrid cloud environments. The Senior MDM Data Engineer will reverse-engineer existing ingestions / integrations, implement MDM solutions (currently hybrid cloud-based, with long-term migration to AWS PaaS targeted for 2027), and ensure seamless outbound services to raw / integrated layers and Data Lakehouse. The Senior MDM Data Engineer is a hybrid Data Analyst / Engineer role, requiring strong financial services domain knowledge to handle sensitive regulated data effectively. Additionally, the Senior MDM Data Engineer will contribute to modernizing data architecture by shifting MDM earlier in pipelines, enabling better integration and distribution to data warehouse, applications, and analytics.
  • Design / Develop / Maintain Ingestion Pipelines (Batch / API / Streaming) - AWS Glue / Kafka / Flink, etc.
  • Reverse-Engineer / Optimize Existing Data Ingestions / Integrations into MDM Platforms
  • Build / Implement Match / Supervisor Rules - Storage for Future Audit / Compliance Needs
  • Integrate MDM Platforms with AWS Services - Glue / Lake Formation / Snowflake / Additional Components | Manage Cloud Data Flows
  • Develop Golden-Record Outbound Services to Deliver Clean Mastered Data Back to Raw / Integrated Layers
  • Perform Data Analysis (Distributions / Analytics) to Support MDM Quality / Lineage Tracking (Keys / Data Flow)
  • Implement / Automate CI/CD Pipelines for MDM Deployments
  • Monitor / Troubleshoot / Optimize Integration Architecture for Reliability / Low Latency
  • Ensure Governance / Compliance / Technical Controls in Pipelines / Deployments - Aligning with Financial Regulations / Data Sensitivity
  • Collaborate with Architect / Analysts / Stewards / BAs on MDM Enhancements

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Senior MDM Data Engineer (5+ years) - Strong Profisee MDM Platform Implementation Focus
  • Profisee MDM Platform (hands-on) - Extensive use of the Profisee SDK for custom development, integrations, rule configuration, and extensions | Proven ability to implement match / survivorship logic, golden record services, and workflow automation within Profisee
  • Data Ingestion / ETL Pipelines (expertise) - Designing, building, and maintaining scalable ingestion pipelines (batch / API-based / real-time streaming) using AWS Glue for ETL jobs, transformations, and orchestration | Optimizing Glue for cost, performance, and integration with downstream systems
  • Streaming / Event-Driven Architecture - Strong proficiency with Apache Kafka for building reliable, high-throughput streaming pipelines | Hands-on experience integrating Kafka as a data source / sink for MDM ingestions, change data capture (CDC), and feedback loops
  • Stream Processing - Practical experience with Apache Flink for real-time stream processing, including complex event processing, windowed aggregations, stateful operations, and ensuring exactly-once semantics in MDM-related data flows.
  • Data Lakehouse / Table Management - Working knowledge of Apache Iceberg for managing large-scale tables in a Lakehouse environment, including schema evolution, partitioning, time travel, ACID transactions, and integration with compute engines like Snowflake or Spark.
  • Cloud Data Warehouse / Lakehouse - Advanced experience with Snowflake as the primary analytical and storage layer, including Snowpipe for ingestion, SQL-based transformations, data modeling for mastered/golden records, performance tuning (clustering, materialized views), and secure data sharing/export for outbound services
  • Programming / Querying - Strong proficiency in Python for scripting, SDK interactions, Glue/Flink job development, data validation, and automation | Expert-level SQL for complex querying, analytical functions, windowing, and rule implementation in Snowflake or similar environments
  • Integration / Architecture - Demonstrated ability to integrate MDM platforms (via SDKs / APIs) with AWS services, Snowflake, and streaming tools | Experience troubleshooting end-to-end data flows, lineage tracking, latency issues, and hybrid cloud integrations
  • Financial Services Industry Experience - Exposure to Wealth Management / Sensitive Client Data Handling in Financial Services

PREFERRED (not required)
  • Migrating or integrating MDM solutions across hybrid cloud environments (Azure-to-AWS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data lineage, golden record management, and survivorship rule implementation
  • Familiarity with modern data architectures (Lakehouse / shifting MDM earlier in pipelines)
