Position Announcement

Working in Facilities Management, this position works under the direction of the Building Maintenance Manager to assist with general building maintenance duties. Performs general building maintenance and repairs across campus, as needed. Additional information about the department is found online athttps://campus.utahtech.edu/.


Responsibilities

  • Assist Building Maintenance Manager with general building maintenance and repairs. This includes carpentry for buildings, both interior and exterior.
  • Perform work on small construction projects. May be called on to help other departments move furniture and other equipment.
  • Help with coordinating projects and perform parking lot maintenance, repair and stripping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • Strong knowledge of the International Building Code and general construction.
  • Ability to perform general building maintenance and complete small constructions projects.
  • Strong knowledge of various fasteners and their use.
  • Ability to climb and work from a ladder.
  • Knowledge of procedures for painting.
  • Knowledge of proper use of power tools, and ability to operate motorized equipment such as a pickup truck and forklift. Valid Driver's License required.
  • Good knowledge of computers and general communication.
  • Ability to lift or move heavy parcels, machines or equipment up to 50 pounds (Lift test and physical required as part of hiring process).

Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time overtime-exempt executive staff position. Annual salary of $42,000-$45,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Desired start date of March/April 2026.
