What you'll do

As a Software Engineer Intern on the Developer Experiences and Extensibility Platform team, you aren't just writing code - you are building on the foundation that hundreds of thousands of builders, partners and external developers rely on.

In this role, you will work with cutting-edge cloud technologies, influence distributed system designs, and utilize AI developer tools to shape the future of how developers integrate with Docusign. You will partner directly with engineering stakeholders to turn product requirements into shipping code.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Manager, Engineering

Responsibility

  • Write, test, and deploy high-quality code across several micro-services hosted in Azure

  • Own your features from the design phase all the way to production rollout

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to understand and design architectures that are secure, scalable, and extensible

  • Solve complex architectural pain points

  • Partner with product teams to identify friction in our current developer flows and implement solutions that define the next generation of the Docusign experience

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of enterprise engineering, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, feature flagging, and secure deployment strategies

  • Contribute to technical documentation and architecture diagrams, culminating in a final presentation where you will showcase your design and impact to the wider engineering leadership team


Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • Experience with object-oriented programming (OOP), data structures, and algorithms

  • Experience writing, debugging, and testing code (side projects or previous internships)

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

Preferred

  • Graduating between December 2026 and June 2027

  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts (Azure/AWS), Typescript/Javascript and modern Agentic coding developer tools such as Copilot

  • Excellent communication skills with a hunger to learn new technologies and a desire to understand how systems work under the hood

  • A proactive attitude toward identifying problems and engineering efficient solutions


Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $39/hour - $51/hour
