About the Team/Role The Senior Team Lead of Network Operations will lead a high-performing team responsible for vendor certification, simulation testing, and system integration within the WEX Fleet organization. This role is critical in ensuring that merchant onboarding, site load validation, and certification processes meet defined service level agreements (SLAs) and align with the operational goals of the business. This role is expected to drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, leveraging automation and AI tools where appropriate, and fostering a team environment that is adaptable to change and embraces new ways of working. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical acumen, strategic leadership, and process improvement capabilities to drive efficiency, accountability, and data-driven decision-making across cross-functional teams. How you'll make an impact
Lead, coach, and develop a team of 7 Information System Engineers to ensure timely and accurate execution of simulation and testing activities aligned with SLA commitments. Manage the end-to-end merchant certification process, including kick off meetings, SLA on script completion and testing in simulation. Oversee compliance with quarterly scope requirements for WEX fuel card integrations, ensuring certifications align with operational and technical standards. Design, implement, and maintain process workflows using Monday.com to track key metrics such as open certifications, testing documentation completeness, and testing windows. Deliver monthly reporting and performance metrics to executive leadership, including current and outstanding vendor statuses, progress toward certification goals, and team performance indicators. Leverage AI-driven dashboards and predictive analytics to proactively identify potential bottlenecks in certification workflows and highlight at-risk vendors before SLA violations occur. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business operations to ensure alignment on testing strategies and vendor retention objectives. Continuously improve processes and documentation to enhance team efficiency, accountability, and knowledge transfer.
Experience you'll bring
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 3+ years of experience in technical team management or leadership within a systems engineering or testing environment. Strong understanding of software testing, systems integration, and vendor certification processes. Demonstrated experience using workflow/project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Jira, Asana). Proven ability to produce and present executive-level reporting and metrics. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience managing engineering or technical teams in a production or systems testing environment. 5+ years of project management experience Familiarity with fleet payment systems or fuel card processing technologies. Experience with vendor onboarding and certification frameworks in a highly regulated industry. Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for reporting and metrics presentation. Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and continuous improvement principles.
The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan. Pay Range: $108,400.00 - $132,400.00
