Position Title: Managing Director of Public Finance Capital Markets Business Unit: Commercial Banking Reports to: Managing Director and Head of Public Finance Investment Banking Position Overview: The Managing Director of Public Finance Capital Markets will lead origination efforts focused on providing financing solutions to public sector entities, including state and local governments, school districts, utilities, and other municipal issuers. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving new business development, managing client relationships, and structuring complex municipal transactions. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry expertise, a strong network of issuer and investor relationships, and a proven track record of successful deal execution. Primary Responsibilities: Identify and pursue new public finance opportunities across targeted regions and sectors. Develop tailored financing strategies for clients, including general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, lease financings, and other municipal structures. Lead RFP responses, pitch presentations, and client relationship meetings. Oversee deal structuring, pricing, and execution of municipal bond transactions while coordinating with legal, compliance, and underwriting teams to ensure regulatory and policy adherence. Monitor market trends and provide insights to clients on interest rate movements, industry intelligence, and regulatory developments. Mentor junior bankers and analysts, fostering a high-performance culture. Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
