Title of Position: Content Specialist

Position Overview: As a Content Specialist, you will research, develop, write, and publish bilingual member- and employee-facing communications in a variety of media in a consistent style and voice. You will partner with internal stakeholders for the efficient planning and execution of public and enterprise-wide communications. You will distill, organize, and convey complex information with a consistent style reflective of organizational values. You will be responsible for content development and implementation of the public-facing website. You will write creatively, and at times technically, in English and Spanish, to support member and staff communications, resources, and strategic objectives.

Position Type: Full-Time. Regular shifts include Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

Compensation Range: $ 28.00/hr. -$36.50/hr. *Hiring rates may be dependent on a number of factors, including years of directly related work experience, education, geographic location or special skills*

Location: Position is On-site in Endwell, NY, Saddle Brook, NJ , Randolph, NJ or Muhlenberg, PA . Hybrid work opportunity may be available.

Responsibilities/Duties:



  • Ideate and execute the writing of diverse communications across print, digital, and audio channels in a voice and style consistent with organizational objectives, values, and branding.
  • Prioritize messaging that drives strategy, supports change management, and enhances overall member experience.
  • Develop culturally appropriate and resonant communications to diverse audiences throughout Visions' field of membership.
  • Research products and services to distill content in a distinct, appealing manner for internal and external needs.
  • Write creatively, educationally, and empathetically to ensure that content is accessible and digestible for diverse audiences.
  • In English and Spanish, write and review marketing creative and member communications in a consistent brand style and voice to support organizational objectives.
  • Write, structure, and implement website content with consideration for ADA compliance, accessibility, and media targeting opportunities such as SEM and SEO.
  • Develop impactful marketing and educational content for members and nonmembers with consideration for advertising compliance with all necessary laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and develop the public facing website content and ensure parity between the English and Spanish versions.
  • Develop, manage, and evaluate internal communication strategies to support strategic objectives, inform and engage employees, and optimize member experience.
  • Craft all staff, enterprise-wide communications and ensure that corresponding resources are created and referenceable in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate technical writing and editing for necessary policies, procedures, and staff resources as needed.
  • Update and moderate internal communications content as needed, to be housed on company intranet.
  • Support all business units and project stakeholders as needed with communications strategies, content creation, and advertising compliance.
  • Coordinate with Communications Team on content development needs for graphic design and video production.
  • Proactively build and maintain relationships with other business units and advertising agency partners.
  • Regularly meet with department representatives to identify communication needs and ensure accuracy and clarity of all staff messaging.
  • Regularly participate in continuing education on credit union advertising compliance.
  • Provide departmental back-up coverage as needed.
  • Respond effectively to changing ideas, responsibilities, expectations, trends, strategies, and other processes.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:



  • Associate's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism or related field with 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish Required *A passing verbal assessment of language proficiency will be required during onboarding process.*


  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Proficient with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field with 1-2 years of experience.
  • Prior website editing experience preferred.
