Job Description

General Summary:

Vertex is seeking a talented individual to join our US Pain Business Unit and support our journey to fundamentally transform pain management in the US. The Associate Director, Corporate Accounts will be responsible for strategically engaging key stakeholder groups to drive awareness for our medication to treat moderate to severe acute pain. This role will be responsible for engaging corporate owned accounts (Ambulatory Surgical Centers, Physician Staffing Organizations, Dental Service Organizations, and Urgent Care Centers) and educating aligned HCPs. We are seeking a candidate that has an innovative mindset to pilot new approaches and a strong track record in cultivating long-term, strategic customer engagements. This role reports to the Senior Director and Head of the Market Transformation for the US Pain Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bring an outside-in perspective to the US Pain Business Unit through external engagements with influential stakeholders in acute pain management
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive engagement strategy to enhance market presence for Vertex, drive awareness for our medication to treat moderate to severe acute pain, and support opportunities that improve patient outcomes in acute pain management
  • Identify and prioritize key stakeholder groups for engagement in alignment with the US Pain Business Unit's business objectives and priorities
  • Cultivate strong, long-term, compliant business relationships with key stakeholder groups inclusive of executive leadership and formulary decision makers
  • Ensure collaboration agreements follow internal review and governance processes, set clear expectations, and are compliant
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key stakeholder groups, addressing inquiries and issues promptly and effectively
  • Collaborate across the US Pain Business Unit with Market Access, Strategic Accounts, Commercial, Marketing, Contracting, Trade, Pricing, Legal, Compliance and Leadership along with other relevant support functions

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of experience in healthcare/biopharmaceuticals in marketing, consulting or agency in, or an equivalent combination of experience and education

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of the legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements for pre- and post-approval activities and ability to model expected behavior for the team
  • Experience defining and executing upon strategies with the proven ability to drive innovation approaches to maximize effectiveness
  • Strong innovation skills, entrepreneurial spirit and courage to challenge the status quo to develop innovative and focused approaches to enable launch through data and technology
  • Ability to oversee generation of insights, and apply those insights to business problems/opportunities
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative and results-driven environment within a growing business unit where we are concurrently learning & building as we drive towards product launch
  • Analytical mindset, with ability to make strategic recommendations based on data and insights
  • Role models high performing team behaviors, all in on team activities and setting the tone for accountability and engagement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive presence and strong MS office skills

Pay Range:

$164,000 - $246,000

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
