Your Assignment:

As a Process Engineering Intern in Wilton, CT, you will work alongside our bonding/contacting and photolithography/wet etch teams to support optical manufacturing processes. You will gain hands-on experience in process optimization and problem-solving while supporting critical optical manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Optimize production processes involving bonding and contacting of glass substrates, wet etching, and photolithography.
  • Design and execute experiments to identify root causes of production issues.
  • Analyze data statistically to troubleshoot and validate process improvements.
  • Investigate process deficiencies and recommend enhancements to improve control and reliability.
  • Develop robust documentation, including work instructions for manufacturable processes.

Currently pursing a Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields:

  • Chemistry
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Materials Science
  • Optical Engineering
  • Physics

Work Environment & Physical Requirements Office Setting:
  • Routine activities include sitting, walking, talking, hearing, and using hands for keyboarding and handling.
  • Occasional movement around campus and lifting/moving up to 20 lbs.
  • Vision requirements: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Factory Setting (Cleanroom):
  • Must be willing to work in a cleanroom environment under ISO 9000/14000 standards, wearing full gowning (coveralls, hood, safety shoes, face mask, nitrile gloves, and safety glasses).
  • Work around overhead cranes, fork trucks, motorized pallet movers, lasers, ladders, platforms, and chemicals.
  • Occasional lifting/moving up to 20 lbs.
  • Moderate temperature and noise levels

Additional Responsibilities:

There is potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage and currents.
