Design and lead scalable, secure multi-cloud solutions while driving cloud migration and modernization efforts. Promote cloud adoption aligned with business goals. Provide expert guidance on cloud technologies, enforce standards and governance, and lead training initiatives to foster a cloud-first culture.

This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office at least three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

What you'll do as a Sr Cloud Architect:

  • Design and architect scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions on a multi-cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Plan and execute the migration of on-premises workloads to the cloud, including re-platforming and refactoring applications for cloud-native architectures.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for cloud technologies, providing guidance and technical governance to application and infrastructure teams.
  • Lead by example with hands-on skills in areas such as Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), and the creation of design patterns and Proofs of Value (PoVs).
  • Define and enforce cloud standards, best practices, and governance policies related to security, cost management (FinOps), and operational excellence.
  • Develop and deliver training to technical teams, enabling them to effectively build and manage solutions in the cloud.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture to create and maintain the cloud roadmap, and with application teams to understand their requirements and align solutions with business objectives.
  • Act as a cloud evangelist, securing buy-in from all stakeholders, including executive leadership. Guide the overall cloud strategy, roadmapping, and cultural shift towards a cloud-first mindset.
  • Oversee relationships with cloud providers, negotiating contracts and pricing to ensure optimal cost-efficiency.
  • Design and implement hybrid cloud solutions that seamlessly integrate on-premises infrastructure with public cloud services.
  • Enforce security and governance policies to ensure all cloud solutions meet industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you'll bring as a Sr Cloud Architect:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in a senior-level cloud architect, solutions architect, or similar
  • Demonstrable expertise with at least two major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and an understanding of multi-cloud architectural patterns.
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, security principles, and compliance frameworks in a cloud environment.
  • Experience with application modernization, including microservices architecture, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Relevant professional cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
  • Experience with FinOps (Cloud Financial Management) practices and cost optimization strategies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience designing and implementing data-driven solutions and data analytics platforms in the cloud.
  • Experience in Change Management: Proven ability to drive organizational change and gain buy-in from diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management and an understanding of how technology decisions drive business value.
  • Expertise in designing, building, and managing hybrid cloud environments.
  • Deep understanding of key compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, SOX, PCI).
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
