The Director of Sales - South Region will provide oversight and strategic direction for the assigned regional sales organization. They are responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth. This involves analyzing market trends, identifying new opportunities, and aligning sales efforts with company objectives. Directors of Sales must also build and nurture relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders. Additionally, they will coach and mentor their team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance. They will provide leadership, vision, and execution, ensuring the overall success of their team.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and implement sales plans to expand the customer base and achieve sales targets. Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team targets. Provide guidance, support, and training to maximize performance and productivity.
  • Oversee all aspects of the sales process, including lead generation, prospecting, negotiation, and closing deals. Monitor sales activities and performance metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
  • Expand the team's knowledge of Marmon IEI 80 products directing each team member to grow sales for these core products across all market verticals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders. Act as a primary point of contact for key accounts and resolve any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay informed about industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities. Use insights to adjust sales strategies and tactics as needed.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities, developing innovative sales strategies, and exploring new markets or segments.
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts and reports for senior management, highlighting key performance metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field
  • Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar capacity.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards excellence.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving growth.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools a plus.
  • Experience in wire and cable is highly desirable.
  • Travel up to 70% required.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position working at a computer and performing repetitive motions.
  • Ability to move objects and materials of at least 25lbs.
  • Ability to collaborate with operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE when onsite.
  • Frequent Domestic and International Travel
