Job Description

This position will be responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating programs that result in EHS regulatory compliance. Specifically, the Safety Engineer will be required to apply their scientific and practical knowledge of the Safety compliance field to innovate, design, and improve systems, processes, equipment, and tools in their assigned areas to improve the Safety characteristics in alignment with daily operations, business plan, and/or innovation to achieve or exceed targets and promote safety excellence. Additionally, the Safety Engineer will lead and manage all activities related to the Emergency Response Team (ERT) to ensure preparedness and effective response during emergencies.

  • You can lead Safety initiatives and drive safety improvement projects
  • You can proactively drive continuous improvements to reduce injuries and hazards and ensure
  • You can design and implement workplace safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • You can leverage Safety expertise to support manufacturing, office, local contacts and/or safety committees to achieve self-sustaining safety culture and high level of safety performance
  • You can interpret and apply the Tower Safety Management manual policies and procedure
  • You can participate in continuous improvements of policies and procedures based on technical expertise
  • You can perform and document complex safety compliance activities including risk assessments, ergonomic studies, and process and equipment innovation
  • You can give detailed presentations and reporting of safety activities and results including complex data analysis and trending
  • You can develop personal technical expertise and professional skills
  • You can conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • You can investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; prepare detailed reports and recommend preventive measures.
  • You can maintain accurate safety records and documentation for compliance and reporting purposes.
Job Requirements
  • BS in Health and Safety Science, Engineering, Applied Science to assure basic knowledge of chemistry and health sciences.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety related regulatory and legal requirements and implications.
  • Recommended professional certification such as Advanced Safety Certificate, Occupational Hygiene, Safety Technician, Certified Safety Professional, Safety Management Specialist, etc.
  • Experience with federal, state, and local jurisdiction safety requirements, including Cal-OSHA
  • Interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Understanding of major health and safety regulations and injury/illness prevention strategies.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.

Compensation:

$80,000/year - $103,000/year
