About This Position:

Our Home Health Rehabilitation team delivers skilled physical, occupational, and speech therapy to adult and geriatric patients in their homes following illness, injury, or hospitalization. With a strong focus on post-acute recovery, fall prevention, mobility and ADL retraining, and patient/caregiver education, our Home Health team utilizes individualized, evidence-based care plans to promote independence, prevent readmissions, and support safe transitions across the continuum of care.

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist (PT). PTAs implement selected components of patient/client interventions and obtain data related to that intervention; make modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient/client as directed by the Physical Therapist or to ensure patient/client safety and comfort; educate and interact with Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistant students, technicians, volunteers, patients/clients families, caregivers; and respond to patient/client and environmental emergency situations. The PTA is expected to conduct themselves in an effective professional behavior manner. The attributes, characteristics or behaviors required for success in this job include: critical thinking, communication, problem solving, interpersonal skills, responsibility, professionalism, use of constructive feedback, effective use of time and resources, stress management, and commitment to learning.

About our Rehabilitation Team:

Our Rehabilitation Services team is one of the largest and most dynamic in the region. With over 700 skilled professionals dedicated to helping patients regain strength, mobility, and independence through comprehensive, compassionate care. Our licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists work closely with medical teams to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patients unique needs. Beyond core therapy services, we offer a variety of specialty programs including neurological rehabilitation, vestibular and balance therapy, lymphedema management, pelvic health therapy, and oncology rehabilitation. With services spanning acute care, skilled nursing, home health, and outpatient settings, our team delivers exceptional, evidence-based care that restores function and enhances quality of life.

What This Position Requires:

Educational Requirements: Associates Physical Therapist Assistant ;Eligible Lee Health candidates are required to graduate from an accredited program. The accepted accrediting body required for Lee Health's Rehabilitation Professionals is the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).

Experience Requirements: None

State of Florida Licensure Requirements: Physical Therapist Assistant License

Certifications/Registration Requirements: BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support)
