The Role
We're looking for a sharp, curious Reporter who understands that great journalism doesn't just attract readers-it keeps them coming back. This role blends strong reporting fundamentals with an audience-first mindset, contributing stories that drive subscriber engagement and retention across print and digital publications.
Key Responsibilities
- Report and write accurate, compelling stories for both print and digital platforms
- Pitch and develop story ideas with a clear focus on reader value and subscriber retention
- Produce timely coverage, enterprise reporting, and explanatory journalism tailored to our core audience
- Collaborate with editors, audience, and product teams to optimize stories for engagement, loyalty, and impact
- Use audience data and subscriber insights to inform story selection, framing, and follow-ups
- Contribute to newsletters, ongoing coverage franchises, or recurring beats that serve subscriber needs
- Adapt stories for multiple formats, including web, mobile, print, and social platforms
- Maintain high standards of ethics, accuracy, and fairness in all reporting
What We're Looking For
- Proven reporting experience in a newsroom environment (print, digital, or both)
- Strong news judgment and excellent writing, reporting, and interviewing skills
- Demonstrated understanding of audience engagement and subscriber-focused journalism
- Comfort working across platforms and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to analyze audience metrics and apply insights to editorial decisions
- Collaborative mindset and openness to experimentation and feedback
- Familiarity with CMS tools, analytics platforms, and digital publishing best practices is a plus
