Description

The Internal Auditor is responsible for the timely execution of risk-based internal audits in accordance with the audit procedure manual and annual audit plan, as well as assisting with other audit matters and projects.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Performs audit procedures to document bank compliance with policies and procedures in collaboration with Office of the Comptroller of the Currency guidance on subjects such as call report, IRR, liquidity, etc.; prepares formal reports regarding results of audit procedures.
  2. Performs internal control testing audit procedures to assist auditors with annual audit of financial statement and validation for bank management as to effectiveness of internal controls; prepares written reports setting forth an audit opinion and offer recommendations where appropriate.
  3. Performs departmental and branch operational audits by designing or following specific audit procedures; gathers and analyzes data and forms an objective opinion; offers recommendations where appropriate; prepares formal reports regarding the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with prescribed policies and procedures.
  4. Assists other members of the Internal Audit Department with activities as necessary.
  5. Performs periodic scheduled internal control tests: selects and reviews various transactions, adjustments and activities of customer and general ledger accounts according to pre-defined criteria in order to document tests of internal control that will be used in various internal audits, as well as external audits and regulatory supervisory analysis.

Technical Expertise

  1. Experience in Audit in financial services or banking is preferred.
  2. Experience in banking laws, regulations, and guidelines are preferred.
  3. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Encompass, Cleartouch, OnBase, various government and investor software/web portals is preferred.

Education and Experience

  1. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  2. Certification: None.
  3. Years of experience: 0 to 3 years is required.
  4. Years of experience supervising: None.

Physical Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, walk, stand, sit, bend, reach with hands and arms, climb, push/pull, use hands, and see, hear and speak.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • This position is performed in an office setting on a hybrid schedule, five days a week with typical work hours being 8.30a through 5.15p.
