Job Description

The Senior Director, Marketing Strategy is a critical leader in the North America Marketing organization, responsible for crafting the regional marketing strategy end-to-end-from business insight, problem definition, and job to be done, through audience definition and segmentation, strategic positioning, and cross-functional strategy development with NAM teams. The role reports to the VP, Marketing Strategy, Insights & Analytics and partners closely across US Consumer, Canada, Media, Marketing Services, and B2B to ensure strategy coherence and execution against Visa's growth goals.

Essential Functions

  • Strategy Development & Orchestration: Lead structured strategy process, synthesize insights, define problems, audience segmentation, positioning, and translate into strategic choices and roadmaps.
  • Insights, Segmentation & Positioning: Partner with Insights & Analytics to define learning agenda, triangulate insights, and form actionable segmentation and positioning.
  • Industry & Competitive Intelligence: Maintain industry scan of trends and competitor strategies, translate signals into implications for Visa's marketing strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with NAM VPs and integrate work with Product, Sales, and Global Marketing counterparts.
  • Outcomes, Finance & Performance Management: Map strategy to business outcomes, connect to OKRs/KPIs, and create executive-ready updates.
  • Ways of Working & Enablement: Codify strategy operating system and coach teams on modern practices.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 207,600.00 to 332,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
