Summary:

Intern Dates: May 18, 2026 - August 7, 2026

A meaningful educational experience for a college student to gain valuable experience in their field of study; while accomplishing tasks and completing projects in an enriching environment. The Intern will gain networking opportunities that include interactions with CHRISTUS leaders and Associates. The Intern will be provided with a variety of projects to support learning objectives in areas Finance and/or Accounting.

Responsibilities:


  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • If Finances
    • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
    • Primary duties include routine daily, weekly, be-weekly, and monthly reporting to support management needs for information related to service line utilization, cost, and profitability, and business statistics for volumes
    • Support other functions as needed for budget preparation and analysis, regional initiatives, financial statement and monthly report preparation, and other functions related to financial reporting and analysis
    • Support CHRISTUS development of budgetary and financial/operational information systems development/deployment
    • Relate data per reporting systems to CHRISTUS Health Information System for Financial and Clinical operations
  • If Accounting:
    • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
    • Prepare month-end journal entries in accordance with US GAAP, with complete and accurate supporting documentation.
    • Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Seek out learning opportunities and be open to constructive feedback to improve overall performance and expand their knowledge of US GAAP.
    • Assist accounting lead and manager with information requests from other teams across the System (both at the corporate office and at our facilities) as needed.

Requirements:

Experience:


  • At least 2 years of college preparation towards major.

Education:


  • Currently enrolled in a College degree program in one of the following degree program; Accounting or Finance
  • PC and Microsoft Office Skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work with others.
  • Quick learner with attention to detail, high degree of confidentiality and solid organizational skills.
  • Needs to be resourceful, innovative and persuasive with ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.

8AM - 5PM Monday-Friday
