SHIFT: Any (United States of America)Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine Children's Hospital of Philadelphia The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania are accepting candidates for the position of Division Chief of Cardiac Critical Care Medicine. We are looking for an inspirational and innovative leader, board-certified in pediatric critical care medicine and/or pediatric cardiology, to lead one of the highest-profile premier academic pediatric cardiac critical care divisions. The successful candidate will transform the division to pursuit of achieving CHOP's mission of excellence in clinical care, education, research, and advocacy. Our core values are: * "We not Me," Building a community based on compassion, collaboration, and teamwork * "Teach and Learn," Personal and collective growth through accountability, humility, and trust * "Elevate Together," Shared commitment to excellence, innovation, and advancement Division Overview The primary mission of the Division of Cardiac Critical Care at CHOP is to lead the multi-professional team that provides specialized care to patients with congenital and acquired heart conditions in the 32 bed CICU, with surge capabilities to 40 beds. The Division currently includes 23 attending physicians and two cardiac critical care advanced fellows. The Division Chief oversees the clinical activities of the Division and coordinates with leaders across the enterprise to optimize clinical operations. The Division is in a phase of expansion, preparing for the opening of a new inpatient tower in 2028. The Division Chief plays a pivotal role in advancing the Division's academic and research missions. The Division's research program integrates clinical, translational, and basic science investigations. Faculty actively participate in multicenter research initiatives, including the Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Consortium, Pediatric Heart Network, and ICU-RESUS studies. Leadership Responsibilities The Division Chief will report directly to the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine and will work closely with the Physician Practice Director, other Division Chiefs, Associate Chairs, and the Vice Chair. The Division Chief will: * Oversee the Division's clinical, research, and educational activities * Model, grow, and sustain a Divisional culture aligned with Departmental values * Lead faculty recruitment efforts * Support career development and mentoring for all Division faculty and fellows * Participate in strategic planning and execution for the Division, the Department, and the Cardiac Center * Conduct annual performance reviews for Division Faculty Philadelphia is an ideal East Coast location, combining rich history, a vibrant arts and culture scene, diverse culinary experiences, and a variety of housing options both within the city and its surrounding areas.
