OCIP Safety Director This is an on-site role - located in Queens close to the Citi Field complex. What the day will look like The Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP), Safety Director (OSD) is a senior, on-site leadership role responsible for providing strategic oversight, coordination, and continuous improvement of the OCIP Safety Program on a large, multi-year mega project. The OSD acts as the Owner's eyes and ears in the field for all safety and risk related issues, ensuring that the written safety program aligns with the overall construction program and contractually mandated requirements. This role requires a professional who combines deep field safety leadership with strong understanding of insurance, claims, and New York-specific regulatory requirements, and who can effectively influence a large and diverse project team. Essential Functions Summary:
Education and/or Experience-
College Degree (preference site safety and health) Plus, two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey safety expectations, procedures, and corrective actions to a diverse workforce, including contractors, subcontractors, and site management. Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical safety standards, NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) codes, and OSHA regulations. Capable of preparing clear, concise reports and documentation for regulatory agencies, project owners, and senior management. Must be able to effectively present safety information, conduct training sessions, and lead safety meetings with personnel at all levels. Ability to respond professionally to inquiries or concerns from workers, supervisors, and regulatory officials.
