Network Engineer is needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client onsite in Buckley, CO

Job Description:
- Monitor and manage customer network infrastructure and performance.
- Review system/network log files.
- Generate routine operational and capacity reports.
- Support capacity planning and disaster recovery design efforts.
- Troubleshoot and isolate network incidents; coordinate service restoration.
- Open and manage service requests with vendors on behalf of the customer.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous problem management.
- Assist with software and firmware lifecycle management.
- Execute approved network change requests and maintain compliant documentation.
- Support and monitor network migration activities.
- Recommend operational improvements and implement best practices.
- Provide performance tuning guidance across the network environment.
- Partner with customer technical leadership to review system health and future architecture plans.
- Perform incremental network and host configuration beyond initial deployment.
- Deliver knowledge transfer on new technologies, SOPs, and administrative processes.
- Assist with creation and updates of runbooks and operational documentation.
- Review IT processes (incident, change, capacity, backup) for optimization opportunities.
- Provide technology recommendations and address customer skill gaps through targeted training.
Skill Requirements:
- Deep expertise with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX OS, including routing, switching, ACLs, QoS, VLANs, and STP.
- Strong hands on experience with Dell Networking OS10/FTOS for data center switching and fabric operations.
- Familiarity with data center technologies such as virtualization networking, storage networking, and ToR/aggregation switching.
- Experience managing L2/L3 architectures, spine/leaf designs, VLT, vPC, and high availability network topologies.
- Ability to perform firmware/software upgrades across Cisco and Dell platforms with proper change controls.
- Skilled in network troubleshooting using CLI, packet captures, syslogs, and performance monitoring tools.
- Strong understanding of network security (ACLs, port security, TACACS/RADIUS, segmentation).
- Expertise in creating and maintaining network documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.
- Ability to provide knowledge transfer and coach customer teams on operational practices.
- Experience in BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and multicast networking across mixed vendor environments.
