This Protective & Marine Technician will support the Transportation Team on a variety of activities for the Marine Industry (US Navy) and Rail Industry. This individual will lead the Conformance Testing program This person will perform a variety of technical research, development and tests on products and samples.

Responsibilities may include analyzing basic formulas, performing calculations and preparing and testing a range of technologies and methods.
Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships.

This role will be located at Sherwin-Williams Morikis Global Technology Center located at 6745 Miller Road, Brecksville, OH 44141.

* Contribute to and design the execution of experiments.
* Complete required tasks and documentation for group's calibration requirements and panel exposure program.
* Comply with test methods according to set standards.
* Document all formulation processes.
* Function with sustained supervision and write simple reports, outlining procedures used and the results obtained.
* Independently perform basic tasks with progress and results infrequently checked, except for when working on complex operations.
* Complete proper forms and documents when necessary.
* Attend quality, safety, technical meetings and seminars as necessary.
* Comply with all safety and security regulations and maintain a clean work area.
* Communicate with internal as well as external customers.
* Manage work in accordance of timeline goals.
* Adhere to company safety and quality standards at all times.
* Organizes work to use time efficiently.
* Seeks assistance on priorities for scheduling work.
* Verbally communicates routine information to supervisor and others in platform.
* Is receptive and attentive to instructions.
* Recognizes problems and implements existing procedures to solve.
* Possesses basic ability to analyze data, draws conclusions and makes recommendations.
* Proficient in operating moderately complex equipment.
* May assist with more complex operations or tasks.
* Uses computing tools to capture and record data.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
* High School or equivalent.
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Must have 2 years of experience in a lab setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Technical understanding and knowledge in industrial chemistries

Travel Requirements: 5%
