Overview

What You Will Do

The BIM [Revit VDC] Coordinator is responsible for the managing and coordination of the BIM models on a variety of construction projects. Identify and ensure prompt resolution of issues, and work together with the Design Team to ensure the work is proceeding on schedule, within budget, and according to contract requirements and specifications.

A Typical Day at Prime Controls

    Assist with personnel evaluations.
  • BIM/VDC Manager will reach out for yearly reviews.
  • Assist with yearly evaluations.
  • Assist with BIM/VDC Standards
  • Family creation
  • Field construction BIM/VDC Standards
  • Creation of Prime Controls Internal BIM/VDC Project Schedules
  • Use GC's construction schedules dates to determine BIM IFF (Issued for Fabrication) schedule.
  • Coordinate with GC to move or update project dates.
  • Manage BIM project.
  • Be present for BIM/VDC Coordination meetings.
  • Attend internal Prime Controls and GC Coordination meetings.
  • Report major clashes or project changes to Project Management
  • Know project specific specifications.
  • Work with PMs and APMs (Project Managers & Assistant Project Managers) to keep management informed of project progression.
  • Help field crews with 3d models and 2d drawing questions.
  • Training
  • Train inexperienced staff on Prime Controls and Project specific standards
  • BIM/VDC Coordinator will assist with Project Specific standards and specifications.
  • Help inexperienced staff integrate to the project.
  • BIM 360 model location
  • Project location on Microsoft Teams
  • Tasks by Planner on Microsoft Teams
  • Note, this position is not absent of BIM modeling. Coordinator will be expected to help the modeling effort on the project. BIM-VDC Modelers will be assigned to the project, BIM-VDC Coordinator is expected to help the effort if modeling is falling behind.
  • Coordinators direct report will be BIM/VDC Manager, but they will be working under a BIM/VDC Supervisor.

What You Will Bring

The Basic

  • Working knowledge of Total Station, laser scanners and point clouds is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of eVolve Electrical is a plus.
  • Must be able to communicate 3D model to field staff with 2d layout drawings and helping them with Navisworks assistance.
  • Strong Navisworks Manage clash detection required.
  • Strong Revit Electrical (MEP Suite) required.
