Are you interested in being part of an innovative team that supports Westinghouse's mission to provide clean energy solutions? At WECTEC Staffing Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, we recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset and we seek to identify, attract and recruit the most qualified talent while recognizing and encouraging the value of diversity in the global workplace.

Opportunity Overview:

We're looking for an Environmental/Civil Engineer to join a longterm program focused on closing and remediating historical/retired coal plant sites. You will help plan work such as soil restoration, coal ash management, and removal of contaminated materials, while building multiyear project portfolios that ensure sustained compliance with MPCA, EPA, and related regulations. You will collaborate with our Environmental Services team, external engineering consultants, construction partners, and internal PM/CM partners. This is a growth role added to meet rising environmental project demand and to support a multiyear transition to cleaner, compliant sites.

Your Day to Day:

  • Support development of longterm environmental compliance portfolios aligned with MPCA/EPA standards.
  • Contribute to closure/remediation scopes, cost/schedule inputs, and sequencing in partnership with PMs/CMs.
  • Conduct field visits and inspections.
  • Observe contractor activities; verify work vs. plans/specs; document findings, issues, and progress.
  • Prepare/review technical documentation, design inputs, and permit/compliance deliverables.
  • Partner with Internal Environmental Services on regulator interfaces and compliance strategy.
  • Coordinate with external engineering firms (environmental & civil design) and construction companies on constructability, logistics, and execution.

Who You Are:

  • 5-7+ years of civil/environmental engineering experience (midcareer up to ~15 years considered).
  • 5+ years of experience working with environmental regulations (as a regulator, consultant, or owner/operator).
  • ABETaccredited degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering.
  • Valid driver's license; ability to travel to sites.
