Product Stewardship Analyst

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

The Product Stewardship Analyst supports the Global Architectural business on regulatory, product safety, and sustainability matters. The scope of the business includes the company's store operations and retail customer distribution channels within North America. The Analyst executes and helps maintain critical business processes such as label reviews and data analysis. Duties include, but are not limited to:

(1) Compliance Support:



  • Regulations and Regulation Reviews:

    • Learns and applies relevant regulations to products within the Global Architectural businessIdentifies
    • changes to regulations and shares key findings with business teams and/or manager
    • Completes reviews of compliance with applicable regulations with limited supervisionand recommends actions

  • Data Entry/Integrity and Systems Support:

    • Gathers, updates or enters appropriate data in relevant IT systems according to defined business rules
    • Participates in evaluating systems support for compliance and shares needs with team and manager



(2) Customer and Business Support:



  • Inquiries:

    • Responds to routine and non-routine requests from internal customers
    • Completes a wide scope of routine external customer inquiries

  • Business Support:

    • Under guidance of one or more Product Stewardship Advisors, supports completion of requests for review of new or updated product labels for compliance to FHSA, CCCR requirements and industry norms
    • Collects, aggregates and summarizes compliance-related data across product portfolios in close collaboration with Advisors



(3) Continuous Improvement:



  • Process Improvements:

    • Identifies opportunities for improvement to key processes,not only within the Global Architectural business but also the Product Stewardship team
    • Supports implementation of process improvements

  • Projects:

    • Participates in product stewardship projects
    • Assists in maintaining organized project information

  • Training:

    • Shares expertise and trains internal team members and other teams in new and updated requirements and processes
    • Assists with documentation of processes within SOPs, guidelines, and related materials - where needed and as applicable



This role will report to Sherwin-Williams Global Headquarters located at 1 Sherwin Way, Cleveland, OH 44113, USA IL Chicago Office 8725 W Higgins Rd. Chicago IL 60631, USA MN Minneapolis Campus 1101 South 3rd Street, Minneapolis, MN 55415.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a physical science or engineering discipline


Preferred:



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sciences, or similar


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:



  • 1+ years of chemical or coatings industry experience in materials and chemical regulations
  • Experience with analyzing compliance data


Preferred:



  • 3+ years of chemical or coatings industry experience in materials and chemical regulations
  • 2+ years' experience working with consumer product labeling regulations, such as FHSA and CCCR
  • Experience with implementing regulatory requirements


TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:



  • Knowledge of basic chemistry
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)


Preferred:



  • Knowledge of applied chemistry
  • Ability to present technical information to others
  • Knowledge of FHSA and CCCR regulations
  • Experience using regulatory software
