About the Opportunity
The Director of Admissions Operations and Analysis serves as the lead for the UNC System Admissions Directors, tracking new federal and state regulations related to admissions and recruitment. Additionally, the director will drive the implementation of admissions regulations and policies to ensure institutions are compliant. The director also provides support to all UNC institutions admissions and related areas, reviews existing student Admission procedures and processes, identifies improvements, and documents process flows, leads and designs efforts to improve and leverage admissions technology with systems such as Slate, Banner, and other CRMs, and facilitates system and state initiatives by participating in various work groups and building admissions datasets.

This position is a hybrid work arrangement and will work at least three days per week onsite at the Dillon building in downtown Raleigh's Warehouse District. UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station. This position will require occasional travel (monthly or every other month), primarily to UNC System constituent institutions.

About the UNC System Office

The UNC System Office includes the offices of the President and other senior administrators of the multi-campus University of North Carolina System. Today, nearly 250,000 students are enrolled in our 16 universities across the state and at the NC School of Science and Mathematics. System Office staff is responsible for executing the policies of the UNC Board of Governors and providing University-wide leadership in the areas of academic affairs, business and financial management, long-range planning, student affairs, research, legal affairs, and government relations. The UNC System Office also has administrative oversight of a number of University affiliates, including PBS North Carolina, the North Carolina Arboretum, the NC State Education Assistance Authority, and University of North Carolina Press.

About the Team
The Academic and Student Affairs department works closely with the leadership, faculty, and staff at the UNC constituent institutions to foster system-wide strategies for enhancing student success and time-to-degree through data-driven decisions. Academic and Student Affairs collaborates with System and institution administrators to implement policies and regulations regarding admissions, student affairs, financial aid, student success, and behavioral health. The department works closely with committees and educational agencies on minimum admissions, course requirements, and partners with the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA).

Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills
A master's degree and five years of related experience, or a bachelor's degree with ten or more years of progressively responsible experience in admissions administration, are required. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Competencies
*Significant experience with admissions management software, including customer relationship management (CRM) systems
*History of effective public speaking
*Strong planning, assessment/analysis, research, and organizational skills
*A thorough understanding of enrollment planning, including yield analysis and applicant trend data

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
*Seven or more years of progressive experience working in admissions at a public university
*Experience in interpreting regulatory language in order to provide guidance for application in admission, recruitment, and enrollment
*Diplomatic, professional, and collaborative communication style
*History of using creative thinking and problem-solving skills
*Experience interpreting and leveraging student applicant data
*Knowledge of forecasting enrollment based on state, local, and campus data points
