Position Objective: This position entails the performance and documentation of maintenance on production and miscellaneous equipment, including both preventive and corrective actions. Mechanical, electrical, and power tools are employed for the performance of these tasks. Organization and maintenance of spare parts and supplies stock is also required. At the Level II scope, this role is expected to work with increased independence, apply advanced troubleshooting skills, and support continuous improvement of equipment reliability and facility operations. Responsibilities:
- Inspect and perform periodic maintenance on a broad variety of production equipment such as:
- CNC and manual machining centers
- Vibratory and centrifugal mass finishing machines
- Medical product inspection systems and instruments
- Vacuum furnace systems
- Ultrasonic cleaners, microscopes, and rotary hand pieces
- Diagnose problems and perform corrective maintenance on such equipment as required
- Independently diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and control-related failures and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Utilize maintenance software and paper records to track and document maintenance activities
- Ensure maintenance documentation meets regulatory, quality, and audit requirements and assist in identifying trends or recurring issues.
- Monitor and maintain purified water system
- Maintain and organize a stock of spare parts and supplies required for maintenance
- Recommend critical spare parts levels and assist with inventory optimization.
- Make routine electrical or plumbing hookups and installations
- Suggest process or equipment improvements
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including equipment upgrades, reliability improvements, and cost-reduction efforts.
- Install, fabricate, or modify equipment when necessary
- Lead or support installation, fabrication, or modification projects with minimal supervision.
- Support other departments and individuals as appropriate
- Run occasional errands in personal vehicle, if qualified
- Relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; (b) respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor
- Manage time effectively
- Prioritize and plan maintenance activities to minimize production downtime.
Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical certification, vocational training, or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electronics, or a related field preferred.
- Three or more years of related experience in equipment maintenance or mechanical repairs, preferably with experience in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry methods.
- Five or more years of progressively responsible maintenance experience in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
- Requires the ability to document maintenance activities in conformance with good manufacturing procedures.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instruction.
- Required to read, write and speak English with good command of the language, follow verbal and written instructions and use simple math.
- Basic computer skills including at minimum, be adept in use of MS Office, internet, and electronic mail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record, Employees in this classification must maintain insurability during the term of employment
