Description and Requirements We are looking for a Performance Test Engineer Intern to join our engineering team for the summer. This internship provides hands-on experience working with server hardware, Linux systems, networking, and performance testing tools in a real-world engineering environment. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers to help set up test environments, run validation and performance tests, analyze results, and document findings. This role is ideal for students interested in systems engineering, infrastructure, hardware/software interaction, or performance validation. What You Will Do Set Up Test Environments Assist with configuring server hardware, networking, and Linux-based software environments Help maintain testbed systems used for performance and validation testing Execute Performance & Validation Tests Configure and adjust test software Run predefined test cases and workloads Collect and organize test results Troubleshoot & Analyze Issues Support testing cycles by identifying failures or performance anomalies Perform initial analysis of hardware, firmware, or software issues with guidance from senior engineers Automation & Scripting Write or modify Python/scripts to automate repetitive test tasks and data collection Documentation Create and maintain clear technical documentation, including system configurations, test procedures, and test results Basic Requirements Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field Basic understanding of: computer systems and server architectures (x86 and/or ARM) Linux operating systems Networking fundamentals (Ethernet) Experience with Python or other scripting languages through coursework, labs, or personal projects Ability to clearly explain technical concepts in writing and verbally Comfortable documenting results and sharing findings with the team Ability to work onsite in Morrisville, NC Preferred Qualifications Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese Exposure to: GPU computing or AI infrastructure NVIDIA CUDA, AMD ROCm, or similar platforms Network Operating Systems such as SONiC We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any federal, state, or local protected class.
