Job Summary


The SJV PRIME+ Operations Manager oversees a broad range of administrative processes and program operations. This includes budget and finance, onboarding, strategic planning, setting operational goals and work plans, allocating resources, and reviewing and monitoring programs and initiatives. This role manages and coordinates complex, large-scale operations, handling both short- and long-term planning. The Operations Manager applies advanced administrative expertise to resolve highly complex issues requiring in-depth analysis and evaluation of multiple factors. This includes:

  • Managing, overseeing, and monitoring highly complex program activities, assessing program operational needs and systems; and identifying needed program modifications
  • Assisting with program planning, development, and delivery
  • Developing communications and marketing strategies, as well as promotional materials
  • Researching, collecting, and analyzing data or information and preparing reports or responses to inquiries
  • Creating a positive and supportive work environment; establishing a culture of teamwork and collaboration
  • Serving as liaison and advisor to program staff, and internal/external stakeholders
  • Independently trouble-shooting common problems and escalating more complex issues to program leads
  • Conducting retreats, workshops, seminars and other special events to achieve program goals

The ideal candidate will need strong organizational and communications skills and experience supporting senior leaders of complex programs. The candidate will demonstrate sound judgment in managing operations and working with leaders and key stakeholders to achieve program goals.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $87,900 - $187,700 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

The School of Medicine's Office of Medical Education (OME) oversees all health professions education programs for the school of medicine which includes over 2000 teaching faculty, 715 enrolled medical students, 1800 residents and fellows and over 30,000 continuing education activities each year. The Office of Medical Education sets all strategic directives for medical education across the enterprise. OME is responsible for ensuring the highest quality learning and teaching environment for our programs and supports.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • 5+ years of directly relevant experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees.
  • Advanced knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
  • Advanced skills in short- and long-term strategic planning, analysis, problem-solving and customer service.
