The Director of Sourcing Transformation is accountable for endtoend ownership of sourcing transformation across the full SourcetoContract lifecycle. This includes intake and orchestration, sourcing, contracting and supplier management experiences, and adjacent travel and expense capabilities. The role sets multiyear vision, prioritizes investments, manages risk and dependencies, and ensures benefits realization at enterprise scale.

This role also partners closely with Engineering and external product teams (e.g., SAP, Beeline,and Amadeus) to deliverAIenabled and agentic solutions, translating business strategies into technology outcomes that improve efficiency, compliance, and user experience.

AsDirector of Sourcing Transformation, you will own the enterprise strategy, roadmap, and execution for game-changing impact sourcing and procurement transformation initiatives. This role blendsbusiness strategy, product thinking, technology leadership, and change management to fundamentally reshape how sourcing delivers value across Microsoft.

You will operate as a senior leader across Procurement, Finance, Engineering, Legal, and external partners, inspiring executive stakeholders through compelling storytelling while delivering durable outcomes through modern platforms, AI- and agentic-enabled solutions, and scalable operating models.

Responsibilities

Enterprise Strategy & Transformation Leadership

  • Own the enterprise sourcing and procurement transformation roadmap, aligning initiatives to business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Lead largescale, crossfunctional transformation efforts that modernize sourcing, contracting, supplier mgmt, travel and expense experiences and deliver measurable business value.
  • Balance tradeoffs across cost, risk, speed, and scale to optimize outcomes for Microsoft.

Technology, AI & Product Enablement

  • Transform experiences by streamlining processes and adopting AIaccelerated and agentic workflows.
  • Partner with Engineering and external product teams (e.g., SAP, Beeline, Amadeus) to design, build, and scale innovative solutions.
  • Convert business strategies into technology solutions by leveraging data and analytics to define OKRs, requirements, testing strategies, change management plans, and benefits realization.
  • Portfolio, Roadmap & Investment Management
  • Lead sourcing transformation and travel/expense roadmaps by overseeing a portfolio of complex initiatives.
  • Prioritize investments, identify dependencies, manage risks, and ensure delivery of solutions on time and within scope.
  • Establish governance, metrics, and performance systems to track progress and outcomes.

Executive Influence & Storytelling

  • Promote executivelevel storytelling with Finance leadership and senior stakeholders to inspire innovation and secure alignment.
  • Communicate complex transformation narratives clearly and persuasively across multiple audiences and levels.
  • Act as a trusted thought partner to leaders navigating change and modernization.

People Leadership & Culture

  • Deliver results through empowerment and accountability by modeling Microsoft's culture and leadership principles.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop senior managers and results-driven teams; attract and retain top talent.
  • Invest in individual growth by understanding capabilities and aspirations, enabling success across organizational boundaries.

Qualifications

Required / Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of people leadership experience, including leading managers and/or senior individual contributors.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience driving change management and adoption of new technologies.
  • Experience with AIenabled or agentic solutions in procurement, sourcing, or finance.
  • Executive communication and storytelling skills.
  • Master's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience leading enterprisescale transformation initiatives in procurement, sourcing, or finance operations.
  • Handson expertise with enterprise platforms such as SAP Ariba, Beeline, Aravo, and Amadeus.
  • Experience managing complex, crossfunctional portfolios in matrixed, global organizations.


Business Program Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
