Job Details:
The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise and program-specific network infrastructure in support of DoD and mission-critical environments. This role performs advanced troubleshooting, supports system integration activities, and contributes to network architecture development under general direction. Network Engineer works closely with systems engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and program stakeholders to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing network operations across LAN/WAN and transport environments. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN network infrastructure
- Implement and support routing, switching, firewall, and VPN configurations
- Monitor and analyze network performance; recommend capacity and performance improvements
- Assist Operations Support Staff, in a reach back capacity, to troubleshoot complex network outages and performance issues
- Capture and analyze network traffic
- Develop and maintain detailed network documentation, including:
- Physical and logical network diagrams, IP addressing schemes, Routing and transport configurations, Network change logs, Circuit ID & Management
- Support system integration, test planning, and deployment activities
- Participate in technical reviews and design discussions
- Support compliance with cybersecurity policies, RMF requirements, and information assurance standards
- Contribute to risk identification and mitigation strategies related to network infrastructure
- Interface with internal teams, subcontractors, and government stakeholders as required
- Support proposal and engineering efforts as needed
Additional Qualifications (Preferred)
- Experience supporting DoD or ISR-related network environments
- Familiarity with AISR transport, data dissemination, or enterprise networking frameworks
- Working knowledge of DISA-provided services and DoD transport environments
- Understanding of cybersecurity controls and accreditation processes (RMF, STIGs)
- Experience with network virtualization or software-defined networking
- Demonstrated working knowledge of cloud-based networking services, including configuration and support of virtual networks, virtualized network appliances, and software-defined networking components.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline
- 4-8 years of relevant networking experience
- Experience configuring and supporting enterprise network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, Crypto)
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), VLANs, and network segmentation, and Multicast network differentiators
- Experience with network monitoring and performance management tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of mesh-technologies associated with networking
- Ability to work independently under general supervision
- Ability to manage multiple technical priorities within cost and schedule constraints
Clearance & Travel Requirements
- Active Top Secret clearance required
- CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required
- Travel may include government facilities, test sites, training locations, and operational environments
Cubic Pay Range: $104,000.00 - $128,000.00 + benefits.
The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
