We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position: Assistant Vice President, New Jersey Programs Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOAGNY) Volunteers of America-Greater New York is seeking a missiondriven, strategic, innovative, and compassionate leader to serve as Assistant Vice President (AVP) for New Jersey Programs, overseeing a diverse and impactful portfolio of behavioral health, supportive housing, and youth residential services across the region. This role is responsible for driving growth, strengthening service quality, and ensuring that all programs within the New Jersey division are aligned with the organization's mission, strategic plan, and agencywide priorities. This is a pivotal leadership role for an experienced human services executive who thrives in complex environments, leads with emotional intelligence, and is energized by expanding highquality programs that help individuals and families achieve stability, wellness, and independence. About Our New Jersey Programs VOAGNY's New Jersey portfolio includes: * Behavioral Health Housing Programs providing intensive, traumainformed, onsite support for adults managing emotional, psychiatric, psychological, substancerelated, or behavioral health needs. Across these programs, our teams of licensed mental health counselors, social workers, nurses, and direct care professionals partner with clients to deliver individualized, strengthsbased care. The AVP will play a central role in expanding services in New Jersey, strengthening program quality, and ensuring that every site operates with excellence, compassion, and accountability. The Opportunity The Assistant Vice President is responsible for the leadership, management, and growth of VOAGNY's New Jersey service programs. This includes oversight of program operations, staff leadership, fiscal management, regulatory compliance, community partnerships, and strategic development. You will lead a talented team of program directors and managers, steward multimilliondollar budgets, and collaborate closely with government partners, funders, and community stakeholders. This role is ideal for a leader who is: * Skilled at managing multiple programs serving diverse populations * A forward thinking leader who excels at building systems, cultivating partnerships and identifying opportunities to expand and enhance programs and services. Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Development Lead strategic planning efforts within New Jersey to ensure alignment with the agency's overall mission, values, and longterm goals. Translate portfolio strategy into concrete operating plans that ensures alignment in service delivery models, policies, and performance expectations Identify emerging trends, community needs, and policy changes to proactively position New Jersey for growth and innovation. Develop, expand, and market program services aligned with organizational goals and community needs. Ensure highquality, traumainformed, costeffective services across all NJ programs. Evaluate program performance and implement continuous improvement strategies. People Leadership * Recruit, supervise, develop, and retain qualified personnel. Fiscal & Operational Oversight * Manage program budgets, ensuring financial stability and compliance. Community & Government Relations * Maintain strong relationships with local governments, licensing bodies, and funding agencies. Organizational Stewardship * Ensure all programs operate within VOAGNY policies, procedures, and mission. * Implement systems for continuous quality improvement, including datadriven performance monitoring and outcome evaluation * Perform additional leadership responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications * Master's degree in a social science, public administration, human services, or related field. * At least five years of relevant leadership experience in human services, behavioral health, supportive housing, youth services, or related fields. * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs serving diverse client populations. * Strong understanding of New Jersey behavioral health systems, supportive housing models, Medicaid/managed care, and relevant regulatory frameworks. * Experience with budget development and oversight, program evaluation, personnel management, and regulatory compliance. * Strong skills in public relations, government relations, and community engagement. * Supervisory experience required. Salary Range $144,000 - $154,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
