SCOPE:

As a dedicated member of the OnPath FCU team, this role performs a variety of tasks that in partnership with the surrounding departments, provides cost effective financial services for the benefit of our members who are our primary focus. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Serves as a dedicated member of the management team and conducts daily business interactions and in constant alignment with the credit union's mission, culture, and core values. Encourages others to act with mission, culture, and core values in mind at all times. Initiative and judgment are required in the absence of specific direction from management. Is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Accounting/Finance Department. Directs the activities of subordinate directors, managers and staff. Represents the credit union to members, regulatory agencies, trade organizations and other credit unions.

Essential

* Oversee financial reporting and analysis functions including key financial ratios, budget variance reporting, CECL, capital adequacy, and profitability reporting.


* Serves as the liaison between credit union personnel and regulatory authorities in connection with audits and exams. Must comply with the rules and regulations relating to credit union operations and have knowledge of the Federal Credit Union Accounting rules and regulations and be able to interpret them for daily operations.


* Informs CFO of all pertinent matters relating to the financial position of the credit union. Supplies the necessary support to assist the CFO in recommending short and long-term objectives for the credit union.


* Assess and mitigate financial risks across the organization.


* Works in conjunction with the CFO and management team to prepare the annual operating budget and analysis of business opportunities and contracts.


* Invests credit union funds in accordance with the investment policy after review of information with CFO. Handles investment planning for liquidity purposes.


* Prepares and administers performance reviews and coaching for staff, committed to coaching, and developing staff for growth.


* Delegates authority and responsibility to subordinate staff and ensures that involvement with management is continually developed so that qualified successors are available when necessary.


* Communicates and educates employees on the importance of fiscal responsibility and how everyone can participate.


* Attends conferences and seminars beneficial to the credit union's operations. May authorize other personnel to attend such conferences and seminars when deemed necessary.


* Performs such tasks as may be assigned by his/her supervisor, which is commensurate with the position.


Knowledge and Skills
Experience

* Five to seven years of similar or related experience.


Education/Certifications/Licenses

A bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related area. CPA or MBA preferred.


Interpersonal Skills

* A high level of interpersonal skills to communicate policies, procedures, and objectives effectively throughout the credit union, and to represent the credit union positively to others.


Other Skills

* A high level of analytical skill to assess and evaluate the operation of subordinate areas of responsibility, participate in establishing credit union financial goals, review legal opinions, recommend policies and procedures to conform with state and federal laws and regulations, and to research policies and practices that will achieve credit union goals.
