Procurement Category Specialist

ChampionX has an immediate need for a Procurement Category Specialist located in Sugar Land, TX. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global, growing organization within our procurement team. What You Will Do:

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Support and execute sourcing initiatives across assigned spend categories using Total Delivered Cost (TDC) methodologies
• Partner with Category and Country Leads to develop and execute RFIs/RFPs, analyze supplier proposals, and provide recommendations
• Assist in supplier negotiations and category strategy development
• Identify and qualify alternative suppliers in collaboration with supply chain, quality, and RDE teams
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive sourcing success

Procurement Operations

• Manage vendor onboarding and supplier setup processes
• Maintain Outline Agreements, including pricing updates and quota management
• Execute daily procurement activities such as material expedites, invoice reconciliation, and supplier communications
• Support procurement for new product introductions and integration activities
• Ensure efficient execution of the Source-to-Pay process

Analytics, Reporting & Systems

• Track and manage savings initiatives, including pipeline development and validation
• Utilize tools such as Power BI or similar platforms to support reporting and decision-making
• Develop understanding of procurement systems and their integration with business functions

Supply Continuity, Risk & Compliance

• Investigate and resolve supply disruptions, constraints, and quality issues
• Communicate risks and mitigation plans to internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, KPIs, and regulatory requirements
• Support risk identification and management within procurement processes

Process Improvement & Projects

• Evaluate supplier performance and implement improvement initiatives
• Support or lead cross-functional procurement and supply chain projects
• Drive process and system improvements to enhance efficiency
• Participate in global standardization initiatives

Position Details:

• Location: Sugar Land, TX
• Work Environment: Primarily office-based with cross-functional collaboration
• Compensation: Competitive salary with performance-based incentives (based on experience)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain planning (materials/chemicals preferred)

• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Results-driven mindset with strong initiative
• Experience working in cross-functional or matrix organizations
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with procurement systems and tools (SAP, Power BI, etc.)
